Join us for an in-depth look at look at the new Israeli government's proposed Judicial reforms. A bagel breakfast will be served.

On December 29, 2022, a new government was sworn in in Israel, supported by a coalition of 64 out of the Knesset’s 120 members. This new government is pursuing a series of significant reforms that aim to alter the relationship between Israel’s parliament and its judicial system. Esteemed historian and Middle East expert, Steven E. Zipperstein will guide us through the implications of what these reforms mean for the future of democracy in Israel.

Steven E. Zipperstein is an attorney, and a lecturer in history at University of California, Santa Barbara. He is also a Senior Fellow at the UCLA Center for Middle East Development, and a visiting professor at the Tel Aviv University Law School. He is the author of several books and other publications on the legal status of Palestine and Jerusalem.

Space is limited.
