FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE   Contact: Lauren Bandari Jewish Community Center (805) 426-5465     lbandari@jccslo.com     4th Annual SLO Jewish Film Festival January 11/12, 2014 at the Palm Theater   (San Luis Obispo, CA) Actor and Director Peter Riegert will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Fourth Annual San Luis Obispo Jewish Film Festival, Saturday and Sunday, January 11 and 12, 2014. The Jewish Film Festival, hosted by the JCC-Federation of San Luis Obispo, is held at the Palm Theater in Downtown SLO and features six diverse films about Jewish culture and intimate conversations with the filmmakers.   The annual Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an individual each year who has made an outstanding contribution to the film industry within the purview of Jewish culture.   Riegert has 77 credits to his name as an actor, best known for his feature roles in Crossing Delancey, Animal House, The Mask, and Local Hero.  He is currently starring in the TV comedy, Dads, and has appeared on Seinfeld, The Sopranos, Law & Order, to name a few.   Reigert made his directorial debut with King of the Corner, co-starring himself, Isabella Rosselini, Eli Wallach, Rita Moreno, Beverly D’Angelo and more.  Inspired by a collection of short stories written by Gerald Shapiro, “Bad Jews and Other Stories,” King of the Corner is a tale of a mid-career Jewish man in a mid-life crisis trying to find meaning of his life.  Reigert also directed the short By Courier, which was nominated for an Oscar in 2000.   In addition to the films, the festival hosts two intimate receptions at
