About Etty’s Deli
At Etty’s Jewish Deli & Bakery, we do things the old-fashioned way—with heart, tradition, and a whole lot of flavor. From our hand-braided challah and house-baked rye to hearty deli sandwiches piled high with the good stuff, every bite is a taste of home. Whether you’re stopping by for a hot pastrami on rye, a matzo ball soup that cures what ails you, or just a nosh of rugelach with your coffee, we’ve got you covered.
Tucked inside The Jewish Federation, just steps from State Street, Etty’s has been serving up Jewish soul food with a side of community since opening in August 2024. We’ve already made waves, with features in The Santa Barbara Independent, KEYT, and The Jewish Journal—but the real stamp of approval? The regulars who keep coming back for more.
So, whether you’re here for a schmear and a schmooze, or looking for fresh-baked challah for Shabbat, we’re ready to welcome you with open arms and full plates. Nu, what are you waiting for? Come eat!

Our Bakery
At Etty’s Jewish Deli & Bakery, we bake the way Bubbe would want us to—fresh, from scratch, and with plenty of love. Whether you’re craving a perfectly cakey black and white cookie, a cinnamon-kissed rugelach, or a crusty, seeded rye for the best pastrami sandwich this side of the Hudson, we’ve got you covered. Everything is baked fresh daily, bringing a little taste of tradition to Santa Barbara—because every day is better with a nosh.

Our Deli
We believe that “If you feed them, they’ll come!” Our kitchen isn’t just a place to grab a bite—it’s a community hub. Unlike many JCCs with gyms and preschools, we created something uniquely ours—a gathering place where people of all backgrounds can come together over a bowl of matzo ball soup, a bagel with a schmear, or a pastrami sandwich stacked so high it needs its own zip code.
After a multi-year remodel, we finally flung open our doors in 2024, ready to welcome all of Santa Barbara—Jewish, not Jewish, hungry, or just curious—to experience the warmth, nostalgia, and unbeatable flavors of a true Jewish deli. Our signature offering? Fresh-baked rye bread piled high with melt-in-your-mouth pastrami. Nu, are you hungry yet?
Do You Offer Kosher Food Options?
While many of our ingredients are certified kosher, our kitchen itself is kosher-style but not certified kosher.

Our Catering – Irma’s Kitchen

Whether it’s an office luncheon, a bris, a b-mitzvah, or just an excuse to eat really well, we’re serving up delicious, made-with-love Jewish classics—delivered with a side of warmth and tradition.
Do You Offer Kosher Catering?
While our kitchen is not certified kosher, we are happy to source kosher meats upon request and prepare meals in accordance with the laws of Kashrut. Just let us know what you need, and we’ll make it happen!
