YAD - Young Adult Division
of the Jewish Federation of Greater Santa Barbara
"The past we inherit. The future we create."
The Young Adult Division (YAD) of the Jewish Federation of Greater Santa Barbara (JFGSB) is dedicated to building an inclusive and connected community of young Jewish Santa Barbarans (in their 20s, 30s, and early 40s), to promoting Jewish identity and to improving our local and global Jewish communities through fun and meaningful volunteer, social, educational and philanthropic activities.
Getting involved with YAD Santa Barbara is an exciting way to meet other young professionals who share your values and interests. Join us and become part of the next generation of caring Jewish Santa Barbarans who are making a difference in our community - and having a blast doing it! YAD has many avenues for you to get involved.
The Young Leadership Program encourages and educates the next generation in the responsibility of philanthropy as taught by the Jewish concept of tzedakah (justice) and tikkun olam (healing the world).
What’s your niche? Whether it’s Social, Recreational, Spiritual, Professional Skill Building, or Community Service, YAD Coordinators are working hard to bring you new, creative and exciting events and opportunities.
These programs are made possible by generous donations to the
Federation's Annual Campaign.

YAD Speaker Series Event:
August 2010: Economic Outlook, guest speaker Neil Kreisel
YAD had an excellent turnout and program at YAD's August Professional Networking event. Neil Kreisel was a great speaker; he captivated the audience and left us with solid advice relevant to our present economic situation.
Thanks to several people for making the event possible:
Sam Sosa (YAD Chair, JFGSB Board Member) chaired the event, Arnold Brier (JFGSB Board Vice-President) provided a great venue, Lauren Katz (JSGSB President) helped with the catering and organizing, and YAD Leader Navi Kalinsky helped with logistics.
Mr. Kreisel is an accomplished businessman with years of experience in management, finance on Wall Street, real estate, and teaches finance and investments at SBCC.
