In the past decade, the Bronfman Family JCC has hosted hundreds of events, programs, services and receptions. Our success has created an urgent need for critical repairs to restore the 37-year-old building into a clean, safe and secure place for program participants.
In 2011, a $200,000 Challenge Match was generously donated by the Luria Family Foundation and the Michael Towbes Fund, making every new dollar donated worth two. Rod & Sharon Berle made initial emergency repairs possible with a $50,000 cash and in-kind donation. The City of Santa Barbara Community Development Agency awarded a $110,000 grant, and Southern California Edison retrofitted the building with energy-efficient lighting, valued at $8,000. Local "Lone Soldiers" and Their Comrades Receive Your Donations
The Federation has received an anonymous, time limited, dollar-for-dollar Challenge Matching Gift directed towards the support of the Lone Soldier program of the Jewish Agency for Israel, and the Friends of the IDF (Israel Defense Forces).
