HIGH ACTIVITY VOLUME MEANS WEAR AND TEAR
In the past decade, the Bronfman Family JCC has hosted hundreds of events, programs, services and receptions. Our success has created an urgent need for critical repairs to restore the 37-year-old building into a clean, safe and secure place for program participants.
In 2011, a $200,000 Challenge Match was generously donated by the Luria Family Foundation and the Michael Towbes Fund, making every new dollar donated worth two. Rod & Sharon Berle made initial emergency repairs possible with a $50,000 cash and in-kind donation. The City of Santa Barbara Community Development Agency awarded a $110,000 grant, and Southern California Edison retrofitted the building with energy-efficient lighting, valued at $8,000. Phase II will begin soon. To give to the Capital Campaign, call our office or click here.

Photos-2012 Annual Campaign Advanced Gifts Event
Celebrating our 2011 accomplishments and looking to the year ahead, we kicked off the 2012 Annual Campaign with speaker Dr. Brian Berkowitz of the Weizmann Institute of Science. His presentation on the pioneering work he is doing with converting hazardous chemicals into environmentally friendly products was fascinating. Thanks to all who attended! See photos

Local "Lone Soldiers" and Their Comrades Receive Your Donations
Check out the photo and video from Yashar LaChayal, who received our donation of $4200. They converted it into the needed supplies for the Givati and Nachal Brigades, and presented the supplies to the soldiers.
The Federation has received an anonymous, time limited, dollar-for-dollar Challenge Matching Gift directed towards the support of the Lone Soldier program of the Jewish Agency for Israel, and the Friends of the IDF (Israel Defense Forces).
