The Jewish Agency for Israel, which is supported by Jewish Federations, is this week hosting a culinary tour of the Jewish state with four world-renowned New Orleans chefs, including TV star John Besh. The chefs will visit Tel Aviv restaurants, prepare meals for Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers, hold cooking classes for aspiring Israeli chefs and cater the opening of the boardwalk in Rosh Ha’ayin, New Orleans’ sister city. Planned in cooperation with the IDF, Israel’s Ministry of Tourism and the Union of Israeli Chefs, the trip is part of the Jewish Agency’s Partnership 2000 (P2K) initiative, which connects Jewish communities and Federations with Israeli communities.
