WE STAND WITH ISRAEL

Why our support is critical:

Because the Government of Israel has asked Jewish Federations to intensify their efforts in providing humanitarian support to the people of Israel.

Because Iranian-backed Hamas’ upgraded military capabilities mean that today, three-quarters of Israelis live within range of rocket fire.

Because the IDF is working to eradicate Hamas’ military capabilities. More than 2,969 terrorist targets and 30 massive concrete tunnels used to smuggle weaponry and infiltrate Israel have been destroyed.

Because Israelis have endured thousands of rocket attacks, fired at all hours of the day and night.

Because in the precious few seconds between a siren blast and a rocket hit, lives can be destroyed, or changed forever.

Because the elderly, the disabled, the disadvantaged and new immigrants have specific and urgent needs for comfort and care.

Because if the past is any guide, the majority of charitable contributions that will help the Israeli people during times of crisis will come from Jewish Federations.

Because Federations can uniquely access a wide network of support, reaching the most Jews in the most communities.

Donate today to the Israel Emergency Campaign to:

  • Provide respite to nearly 45,000 children near Gaza, living under constant rocket fire
  • Ensure seniors and the disabled receive food, medicine and care they need
  • Help Israeli families directly impacted by terror attacks
  • Provide psychological assistance to children, families and seniors experiencing trauma
  • Assist "lone soldiers" who have made aliyah and are serving in the IDF without any family in Israel to support them

Next month, an international mission of Jewish communities worldwide are traveling to Israel to volunteer and show their support after the difficult summer Israel has faced. The mission will run from September 8-14, but participants are able to join for one, two or all 7-days – all according to their availability and time-frame.

Sign up for this incredible opportunity to join Israel Experience on a Solidarity Mission to Israel with Jewish communities worldwide who will show their support in Southern communities, volunteer at non-profit organizations, meet key leaders in the IDF, and more.

The Next Beginning: Crafting the next chapters in your life:
Skills and tools one needs to move forward.
A professional workshop sponsored by Jewish Family Service of Greater Santa Barbara

Deborah S. Levinson is a  Johns Hopkins-trained psychotherapist and licensed clinical social worker in practice in Manhattan and in Maryland. Mrs. Levinson is the author of several works, including Surviving the Death of Your Spouse and The Next Beginning.

In contrast to traditional mourning theories, Ms. Levinson presents a model for the adjustment after major loss: death, divorce or end of a long-term relationship which addresses the issue of loss of an attachment object as a post-traumatic stress disorder.

This three-hour workshop is both didactic and experiential and will give clinicians tools and skills to use with their clients
